LG Washer Installation Checklist for Malaysian Condos
A laundry appliance needs more than a space the width of its cabinet. Check the delivery route, open doors, water connections and installation scope before ordering for a condo.

Before ordering an LG washing machine for a Malaysian condo, measure both the laundry area and the route used to deliver it. A machine can fit its final position yet be difficult to move through a narrow service door or around a corridor corner.
This checklist helps you prepare for an installation discussion. Exact clearances, electrical requirements and hose positions must come from the manual for the model you order and the installer's assessment.
Start with the delivery route
Measure the narrowest doorway and any tight turns between the loading area and your laundry space. Ask building management about service-lift bookings, delivery hours and protective covering requirements.
Take photos of the route if there is an unusual step, narrow landing or low obstruction. Give the supplier the details before delivery day so access questions can be resolved early.
- Check loading-bay and service-lift access.
- Measure the laundry doorway with the door fully open.
- Note fixed cabinets, railings and tight corners.
- Confirm who will arrange any required building access.
- Ask how the old appliance will be removed, if needed.
Separate appliance dimensions from installation space
These official measurements illustrate why the exact model matters. They are cabinet dimensions, not recommended recess sizes.
| Example model | Width | Height | Depth |
|---|---|---|---|
| FB1209S5W 9kg washer | 600mm | 850mm | 550mm |
| WT1410NHB 14/10kg WashTower | 600mm | 1655mm | 660mm |
| VD-H9066WSR 9kg dryer | 600mm | 850mm | 660mm |

Leave additional space as specified for connections, ventilation and servicing. Check whether any dimension includes protruding components before commissioning cabinetry.
Check door swing and everyday working space
Mark the proposed appliance outline on the floor with removable tape. Then stand where you would unload it while holding a basket.
Check nearby cupboard doors, the bathroom entrance and any route to the balcony. A washer that fits with its door shut can still be awkward when unloading sheets.
For a tall appliance, check access to the controls and both drums. For side-by-side machines, make sure opening one door will not block the task you need to do at the other.
Show the installer the water, drain and power points
Photograph the existing tap, drain and socket from both close up and a wider angle. Ask whether each is suitable for the exact appliance and whether any work is needed before delivery.
Have the installer confirm the permitted drain arrangement and hose routing. Avoid relying on a generic drain height or hose length copied from another model.
Use a qualified electrician for any required electrical changes. For an exposed service yard, ask whether the location meets the appliance's indoor installation requirements and protection needs.
Confirm what basic setup includes
LG Malaysia describes washing-machine basic setup as including removal of shipping bolts, levelling, connection to existing water and drain points, and an operational check for leaks. Its published scope excludes plumbing work.
Read the LG Subscribe maintenance and warranty terms and confirm the scope in your own quotation. Treat new taps, drain alterations, cabinetry and electrical work as items to discuss explicitly.
At handover, ask the installer to show you the completed connections, normal operation and routine care access.
Confirm stacking before choosing the layout
If you plan to put a standalone dryer above a washer, ask for approval of the exact model pair and stacking accessory. Matching cabinet widths alone are insufficient.
A WashTower is supplied as a stacked laundry appliance, but it still needs a suitable installation location. Compare its complete requirements with a washer-and-dryer arrangement before deciding.

Frequently asked questions
Is a 600mm-wide opening enough for a 600mm-wide appliance?
The cabinet width is only a starting measurement. Required clearances and delivery access still need to be checked.
Does basic installation include a new water point?
LG's published basic washing-machine setup refers to existing connections and excludes plumbing work. Ask for any additional work to be quoted separately.
Can I order first and resolve the cabinetry later?
It is better to confirm the installation drawing before committing to cabinetry. That helps avoid placing hoses, sockets or doors where they cannot be reached.
