LG Gaming TV for PS5 and Xbox: Malaysia Guide
A gaming TV needs to match the console, the games and the devices connected to it. Use this checklist to compare LG OLED B6, QNED87 and NU86 specifications.

The right LG gaming TV depends on the signal your console or PC can output and the games you play. Start with the exact source device, your preferred screen size and the other equipment that will share the television.
Then compare individual specifications. A 4K resolution label alone does not tell you the native refresh rate, the available variable refresh-rate modes or how many HDMI devices you can leave connected.
Separate resolution from refresh rate
Resolution describes the image's pixel dimensions. Refresh rate describes how frequently the display refreshes. A television can offer 4K resolution while having a different refresh-rate limit from another 4K model.
Also distinguish the panel's native refresh rate from a mode advertised for a compatible input. Neither specification guarantees that every game will render at the corresponding number of frames per second.
Check the game's available display modes and the source device's settings. If you prefer a particular performance mode, ask whether the proposed TV, connection and source combination supports it.

Understand VRR and ALLM in practical terms
Variable refresh rate lets a compatible display adapt its refresh timing to a compatible source. Auto Low Latency Mode allows compatible equipment to signal a low-latency mode.
These are features to confirm across the complete setup. A television listing VRR does not establish that an older source device, a particular game or an intermediate receiver supports the mode you want.
At handover, ask for help checking the relevant game or picture settings. Keep a note of which HDMI connection and input configuration are used so you can reproduce the setup later.
Count every HDMI device
Make a simple list: console, second console, streaming player, soundbar or AV receiver. If you use eARC for audio, reserve the appropriate port before counting what remains.
Tell the supplier whether the console will connect directly to the TV or pass through another device. Check the capabilities of the complete signal path, including the cable, rather than relying on the TV specification alone.
Plan access to the ports before wall mounting. Reaching behind a mounted screen every time you swap devices can be inconvenient, even when the television has enough inputs.
Choose a screen for everything you watch
A shared living-room television may spend as much time showing sport and family programmes as games. Compare those uses alongside the gaming functions.
Look at the OLED versus QNED guide for panel and room considerations. Use the TV size guide to check how the shortlisted screen works from your usual seat.
Ask to see familiar content and readable game menus if you can. Your preferences about image presentation and screen size deserve attention alongside the specifications.
Frequently asked questions
Does buying a 144Hz-capable TV make my console output 144Hz?
No. The source device and selected game mode determine the available output. LG qualifies the higher-rate mode by compatible inputs and content.
Is a 60Hz TV unsuitable for every game?
No. Assess it against the games and output modes you actually use. Choose a higher-rate model if that is a requirement for your intended setup.
Can I assume every HDMI port has every advertised capability?
Check the manual's port specifications and recommended connection. Confirm the source, cable and any audio equipment in the path as well.
