LG Water Purifier Installation Checklist for Condos

Before ordering an LG water purifier for your condo, take photos of the proposed counter position and the cabinet under the sink. Include the water connection, nearby power point and any shelves or drawers around them.

Those photos give the installer a clearer starting point. They also help you identify work that may need permission from your landlord or building management.

Measure the appliance position and the space around it

LG offers countertop and under-sink arrangements. Compare the layout you want with the actual space available.

For reference, LG lists the countertop WD518AN at 168mm wide, 398mm high and 400mm deep. The ATOM-U WU525BS under-sink main unit is 170mm wide, 420mm high and 410mm deep, with a separate tap above the worktop. See the WD518AN and WU525BS specifications for the exact variants.

Use these dimensions to assess the space. The final position also needs the clearances and access required for installation and service.

For a countertop model, check the depth as well as the width. Photograph the rear wall and overhead cabinets. For an under-sink model, measure inside the cabinet around the sink bowl, waste pipe and hinges. A cabinet's external width can hide a much smaller usable space.

Show the installer the water connection

Take a clear photo of the existing connection beneath the sink. Include any valves, other appliances and the route to the proposed purifier position.

Ask the installer to confirm the model's inlet-water requirements and the suitability of the connection. If the home uses an additional filter or has unusual plumbing, include that information in the enquiry.

Agree on the tubing route before installation. Ask which connections or materials are included and what would be charged separately. Leave plumbing changes to the installer assessing the job.

Agree on the tap position before drilling

An under-sink setup needs a suitable position for its dispensing tap. Show the installer the sink, worktop and any existing holes.

Ask how the tap will be mounted and whether drilling is proposed. Confirm the intended hole position before the work begins. Include the material of the worktop if you know it.

In a rented home, obtain the owner's approval for the agreed changes. Check building-management requirements where relevant. Keep the approved scope with your quotation so everyone is working from the same plan.

Include power and maintenance access in the assessment

Show the installer the nearest power point and the route from it to the appliance. Have them confirm that the arrangement meets the selected model's requirements. Any new electrical work should be assessed by a qualified electrician.

Think about the next filter change while choosing the location. Ask the installer to demonstrate the access needed for maintenance. You should know which cabinet items may need moving and which parts must remain reachable.

Check the installation scope in writing

Before booking, confirm:
